Formigal has 130km of prepared slopes providing variety for all levels of skier and boarder - and is particularly suited to intermediates and beginners.

There are slopes both above and below the tree line, which are wide and well-maintained and generally uncrowded - which comes as a very pleasant surprise to anyone used to the busy and often overcrowded runs and long lift lift queues which have become a feature of some alpine resorts.

Formigal is not a resort for experts who feel that only St Anton, Verbier or Chamonix are able to provide the tough challenging skiing they need to enjoy a holiday,but it does have a good selection of black runs which will test good advanced skiers on a short break or even a week's holiday.
With a guide it's also possible to explore some of the extensive off-piste itineraries.

The ski school has a good reputation and children are especially well catered for.

The Spanish enthusiasm for a vibrant nightlife is not restricted to summer months - it's all year round!
Apart from skiing and boarding, there's plenty of après-ski on offer : snow scooters, dogs sledding, skating, swimming, saunas and spas - and that's just as the sun goes down!

After dinner there are lively bars open until late and if you still have the energy, several clubs to carry on partying - later than is wise if you want to be first on the slopes !
